10 Field Technical Training Squadron (10 FTTS) changed its command team at a parade last Thursday.

Maj Eric Matte assumed command of the squadron from Maj Jonathan Pilon, and Squadron Warrant Officer CWO Frank Dwyer passed his appointment to MWO Mark Finucan.

In his speech Maj Pilon recounted 10 FTTS’s accomplishments as a unit. These include many professional achievements and also reflect the unit’s morale – “winning Sports Day in Canada, the Office Decorating Challenge, Terry Fox Works, Snowfest, the Wing Wellness Walk, but no Wing Commander’s Cup,” he said. He left the latter as a challenge for Maj Matte.

“I will have lots to remember and be grateful for over these past two years,” he said.

4 Wing Commander Col Paul Doyle, the parade’s Reviewing Officer, thanked Maj Pilon for his “extraordinary contributions to 4 Wing.”

“You have contributed in a major way to the 4 Wing community,” he said. “Your efforts as CO of this remarkable squadron have directly contributed to all its successes, and for that I thank you and congratulate you.”

Maj Matte said it is “a true privilege” to accept command of the unit.

“We will face great challenges,” he said. “I’m confident we have the proper skills and the right team to be facing them.”

Maj Pilon is posted to the Joint Command and Staff Programme, and CWO Dwyer is posted to 401 Tactical Fighter Squadron.
