The annual Green Thumb Awards have been handed out to RHU residents with a knack for gardening.

The awards were initiated by 4 Wing Community Council to encourage RHU residents to beautify their yards and gardens. This year the judging
was done by Wing Logistics and Engineering staff coordinated by Lt Pavlo Besedin of Wing Construction Engineering

The preliminary judging was done August 2 to August 4. The judges compiled a short list, which was evaluated again on August 9. The winning units were announced last week.

The residents at 449 Beaver took first place and a $250 Canadian Tire gift card. The second prize, a $150.00 gift card, went to 664 Mackenzie, while third prize, a $100.00 gift card, was awarded to 635 Mackenzie.

Recipients’ names were not available at press time.
