Notice: Reopening of Playgrounds and Outdoor Recreation Facilities

Public Service Announcement

May 28, 2020 – Cold Lake, AB – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

In line with the Province of Alberta, and the City of Cold Lake’s municipal policy, 4 Wing Cold Lake will re-open outdoor playgrounds and some recreation facilities by Friday, 29 May 2020. Facilities to be re-opened:

1) Art Smith Aviation Academy playground and play structures;
2) All outdoor fitness structures;
3) MacKenzie dog park;
4) Col J.J. Parr Sports Centre Skate Park;
5) Col J.J. Parr Sports Centre Fitness Park;
6) Volleyball/Tennis Courts;
7) Disc Golf Course and;
8) Gazebos

Facilities still closed are:

1) Splash Park
2) Ball Diamond
3) Outdoor Rink

Playground structures and outdoor recreation facilities are not cleaned, disinfected or inspected.

The public is reminded that the Government of Alberta has imposed a limit of 50 people on outdoor gatherings and is requiring physical distancing such that people who are not from the same household should keep two metres apart.
