Jeff Gaye The Daily Goods, a bakery and lunch spot, has opened in the CANEX mall. Brian Hayes landed the contract to operate the eatery in the former Cinnamon Grove location. The Daily Goods opens at 7:00 am on weekdays, perfect for those who want to grab a breakfast sandwich while picking up a coffee at the CANEX, Hayes says. City council approves air show sponsorship

Jeff Gaye The City of Cold Lake has signed on as a partner for the 2018 Cold Lake Air Show. Council voted last week to approve $125,000 to cover the costs of civilian performers at the air show, which will take place at CFB Cold Lake July 21 and 22, 2018. The air show runs once every two years. The city covered the performers’ fees for the 2016 air show at a cost of $75,000.Read More

BC lifts state of emergency, 417 Squadron comes home

Jeff Gaye With the province of British Columbia lifting its state of emergency last Friday, members of 417 Squadron have finally come home to Cold Lake. The squadron deployed July 9 on Operation Lentus, the name given to Canadian Armed Forces domestic support for areas affected by natural disasters.
