Volunteers needed for world volleyball championships

Jeff Gaye The CISM world military volleyball championships are coming to Edmonton this spring, and organizers are looking for volunteers to make the tournaments run. Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services is hosting the men’s and women’s world championships May 26 to June 5, and they need volunteer operations centre staff, liaison officers and event staff. Jeff Gaye Cpl Shelby Lewis, an AVS technician with 409 Squadron, spent a week in England earlier this month training with the Canadian Armed Forces women’s soccer team. The Courier Capt Victoria Blakie of AETE, Cpl Shelby Lewis of 409 Squadron and Cpl Dayana Porter of 1 AMS are bringing home silver medals from the CAF national women’s soccer championship.
