Dog owners across Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Cold Lake and the surrounding community are invited to gather for a morning of fun during Paw-Casso, taking place Saturday, June 6th.

Hosted by the 4 Wing Personnel Support Programs (PSP) Community Recreation team, the free event is designed to bring together pet owners and their four-legged family members in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

“This event was created to bring our community together in a fun and welcoming environment for fellow ‘paw-rents’ and their furry companions,” said Vania Vizcarra, Community Recreation Supervisor with 4 Wing PSP.

No advance registration is required. Vizcarra says attendees can expect a fun and relaxed atmosphere with activities designed for both dogs and their owners.

“We’re excited to have the support of some amazing partners.”

Hamel’s has sponsored dog treats for the first 30 dogs to arrive and will also provide goodies for their owners. CANEX will be supplying paw-cups for canine participants. The Lakeland Humane Society will also be attending the event, providing information about its programs and services for those interested in learning more about local animal welfare initiatives.

“We’re excited to have the support of some amazing partners,” said Vizcarra. “Their involvement helps make this event even more engaging and memorable for everyone, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.”

For those planning to attend, Vizcarra says preparation is simple.

“Just bring your pup, a positive attitude, and lots of love for our furry friends.”

Paw-Casso takes place at the 4 Wing Dog Park, located across from the Colonel J.J. Parr Sports Centre.
