The CFB Cold Lake Curling Team delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Canada West Curling Championship, held last week at CFB Moose Jaw, earning a well-deserved silver medal.

Representing 4 Wing with pride and determination, the team— Capt Colby Evans, Capt Kyle Walker, WO Adam McAloney, and Sgt Joey Beaudin—dominated early play. Cold Lake went undefeated through both the round robin and the semi-finals, showcasing sharp shot-making, smart strategy, and cohesive teamwork.

Their winning streak set the stage for a thrilling championship final against a skilled rink from 17 Wing Winnipeg. In a competitive matchup, Cold Lake battled hard throughout the game but ultimately fell by a score of 8–4, finishing the tournament with a strong second-place result.

Despite the narrow loss, the team’s dominant run was a fantastic showcase of 4 Wing talent, and the entire community is proud of how strongly they represented CFB Cold Lake. Congratulations as well to 17 Wing Winnipeg, who will now go on to represent the West at the CAF National Curling Championship, with the location and dates to be announced.
