Dear families of the 4 Wing and CFB Cold Lake Defence Team,
As we approach the close of 2024, a year filled with milestones and memories, including the Centennial of the Royal Canadian Air Force, we wanted to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to you, the families who are the backbone of our Defence Team. Your unwavering strength and support have been a constant source of inspiration, and we know that nobody is able to serve their country without the strong support of their friends, families, and personal networks – for this we graciously thank you.
We recognize that 2024 has brought its share of challenges, from managing one’s daily demands, navigating change and deployment schedules, and braving our harsh northern winters. Through it all, your resilience has shone brightly. To those with loved ones deployed or on duty during the holidays, please know you are in our hearts and our thoughts. Your sacrifices and steadfast support empower the work that we do, both here at home and abroad.
We also wanted to take the time to note that this year we have made some strides in enhancing the support systems and resources available to our families through programs led by the chaplaincy, PSP, and the MFRCS. These initiatives reflect our commitment to ensuring your well-being, and it remains a top priority. We look forward to building on these improvements in 2025, and striving to make life at CFB Cold Lake even more fulfilling for all.

It is a moment to pause amidst the bustle of life and truly appreciate the joy that comes from shared traditions, family gatherings, and moments of togetherness. Whether you are staying cozy at home or braving the winter wonderland outside, please stay safe, travel safe, and take the time to care of yourselves and one another.
