Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Cold Lake’s Summer Sports Day, held June 12th, brought together 536 participants for a full day of activity focused on fitness, recreation, and fun.

The day opened with ceremonies featuring Acting Wing Commander LCol Golding and Wing Chief Warrant Officer Oliveira, with the 4 Wing Band also taking part in the opening program.

Tammy Buchanan, 4 Wing Personnel Support Programs (PSP) Fitness and Sports Manager, said the event was a clear success, noting:  “536 participants engaged in volleyball, disc golf, wiffleball, dodgeball, grappling, badminton, pickleball, table tennis, try-a-tri, wellness walks, and yoga sessions! These members were able to get active, have fun, and socialize!”

Thanks were also extended to all participants, as well as the staff and volunteers whose planning and hard work made the day possible. Organizers also thanked Inter Pipeline for their support, which helped make the 4 Wing Summer Sports Day possible.

In addition to a day of recreation and friendly competition, several participants and teams earned top honours in their respective events.
